The CloudLinux ELevate project, currently in beta, may encounter potential issues, especially concerning third-party packages and/or repositories. It is not recommended to use or test this tool on production servers unless you are fully confident in your understanding of the process.

ELevate is an initiative that facilitates migrations between major versions of RHEL derivatives.

CloudLinux Elevate, which is based on the AlmaLinux ELevate project, aims to offer a streamlined approach for upgrading CloudLinux 7 systems to CloudLinux 8 in place.

The primary tool utilized for this upgrade is the Leapp utility.

As of now, the migration from CloudLinux 7 to CloudLinux 8 is only supported for no-panel systems.

The recommended approach involves setting up a new CloudLinux 8 server and then manually migrating the user data. For migrating CloudLinux settings, you can refer to the instructions provided in this article
